In accordance with UK regulations, you have a statutory right to cancel your insurance policy within 14 days of the policy start date or the date you receive your policy documents (whichever is later). If you cancel within this period, you will receive a refund of the premium paid, subject to a deduction for the time you were covered and any applicable administration fees from the insurer.
Outside of the cooling-off period, refund requests are considered under the following circumstances:
• A duplicate payment has been processed in error.
• The policy was cancelled prior to the effective start date.
• An overpayment occurred due to a technical transaction error.
If you wish to cancel your policy after the 14-day cooling-off period, refunds are typically calculated on a pro-rata basis by the insurance provider. Please note that most UK insurers will apply a cancellation fee and may not offer a refund if a claim has been made during the current period of insurance.
Broker arrangement fees or administration charges for set-up are generally non-refundable once the service of arranging the policy has been completed, unless the cancellation occurs within the statutory cooling-off period.
Approved refunds are processed promptly, typically within 7–14 business days. Funds will be returned to the original payment method used. Please note that bank processing times may vary.
